Everyone needs a coach or a mentor, especially single mothers shouldering the burden of raising a child(ren) by themselves and want to improve their personal lives. We offer one-on-one coaching. A coach or mentor is a welcome opportunity for positive change and growth in not only your personal life but your professional life as well to live a better quality of life. Single mothers that are coachable and willing to change their problematic behavior, gain social and emotional intelligence, and progress in other aspects of their lives, coaches or mentor provides the support and resources you need to succeed.

Being a part of We the Moms support group for single mothers, we work together to answer the question Jesus asked the man at the pool of Bethesda, “Wilt Thou Be Made Whole?” (John 5:6). Interestingly, Jesus did not ask if the man wants to heal but instead addressed the whole person. We ask the same question today, do you want to be healthy spiritually, emotionally, and physically? Whatever condition that is holding you, hostage, we offer monthly topically-led gatherings, as well as quarterly seminars and workshops that encourage wholeness.

As advocates for change, the R.I.P.E.N.  parenting experience is another service provided by New Life Community Outreach that offers a 12-week training to assist single mothers in maintaining a healthy state of mind for positive results in the family structure. We are dedicated to helping single mothers and expectant mothers overcome obstacles in their lives and transform into resilient women. Training is conducted in group settings one day a week to help vulnerable single mothers navigate through difficult challenges and move forward in their lives for the sake of the child(ren). The group setting also creates a haven for support and normalcy while facing personal challenges.

R.I.P.E.N. is built on the foundation as described in the scriptural text of Deuteronomy 30:19; “Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”  We are passionate about the well-being of vulnerable single mothers to positively shape their futures and lead a better quality of life. What makes this parenting experience unique is that it focuses on the wholeness of the mothers to improve in their parental role. We encourage and inspire our mothers to become better women and community leaders as well with support, resources, and, more importantly, hope.

"Before RIPEN, I was lost! Although I had a relationship with God and with my child during class, I learned techniques to help me strengthen my relationships in both areas. I learned how to self identify with the woman I was, and by the end, I was sure the type of woman, parent, and child of God I wanted to be. This class helped me through a lot, and I can honestly say that with continuing to use the steps I learned from the class in my day-to-day life, I am at peace. I feel like a weight has lifted off of me. Now, I look at life as a single parent with a new set of eyes, and it’s all because of this class."

"It is truly an honor to be able to meet and serve some of Washington, DC’s vulnerable single mothers in the capacity by which they allow me. I have had the pleasure of running a pilot study for the targeted single mothers and made a continuous loving connection with each one of them. It’s not easy to participate in group sessions and expose your weaknesses to people that you do not know but form supportive relationships. It just proves how courageous they are to have their lives transformed to become whole. I look forward to meeting more brave mothers that want to engage in improving their lives."

"I greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with Ms. Stephanie for the parenting experience. Not only did I learn so much about myself, but I also gained knowledge from other mothers that have similar struggles as myself. Being in this program taught me that God loves me through it all, the highs and lows. I have opened up in so many ways, sharing things that most times I might have held back. I am doing so much better now, not just as a person but as a mother as well. Each day I’m finding new ways to love my son and not take out my frustration on him. I know that what I do today affects his future. I’m so thankful for this opportunity, definitely needed in my daily lifestyle. Thank you so much, Ms. Stephanie, for investing your time in my life!"
