New Life Community Outreach strives to break the cycle of poverty experienced by the homeless families, low-income residents, and at-risk young single mothers of Washington, DC metropolitan area. The Chosen to Live program is aimed at helping these young women gain the necessary skills to become self-sufficient, successful adults. We developed a curriculum to teach, train, and empower young mothers in making positive life changes that lead to a strong sense of self, achievement, independence and direction. Participants also receive guidance and training in five critical areas of their life, which include the support necessary to pursue career-track and post-secondary education.
